The card I made for father’s day, and it alongside the embroidered PigeonJon tweet I gave dad. I made wrapping paper that matched the card, and homemade washi tape that said “dad” all along it. It was a pretty handmade father’s day, all-in-all!
What’s that? You want to make letters to your penpals more awesome, but you just don’t know how? Well fear no more, I have a solution.
Over at WreckThisGirl’s Etsy shop you can buy wonderful cards designed and printed by Fab herself. There’s a card perfect for tea lovers, pen pals and even those who need an emergency disguise once in a while (spoiler: it involves a moustache!) She even sells collage kits she puts together herself, perfect for any scrapbooker or papercrafter.
So, for awesomeness in card form, look no further! Fab’s got it sorted for you.
Birthday card for my boyfriend’s dad. Hope he likes it! I think I’ll probably use a similar design when it comes to father’s day.

We got a new punch that can be used for bunting or trees. Such fun! :p
First time I’ve tried making a ‘batch’ of the same card. Unfortunately, I posted two to friends before taking a photo of them, so I only have a progress shot of the three images, and a photo of the last one (which was the least well made… d’oh!)
I like making this card, I’ve done it in pink before and I think it lends itself to yellow pretty well too :)
A card I made recently. Took a long time to do all the colouring but I’m proud of the outcome. And, in true nerd fashion, those buttons are actually sewn on.
… Is there any chance you’d believe me? If so, whoo-hoo! Because I’m totally lying.
Anyway, hello Tumble-Bees!
I have been sort-of busy lately, as I’m nearing the final stages of tidying my room. As of yesterday, I have a bed again (whoopee!) and in the last couple of days I’ve been through the stuff on my dressing table, my wardrobe and a random cupboard. Once I finish that random cupboard, get the missing drawer back so all my undergarments have somewhere to live, and buy some underbed storage and a bedside table, I’ll be almost properly finished. So, yippee! Be proud of me!
On the crafting side of things, I haven’t done so much. I bought issue 250 of the CrossStitcher a while ago and I would have finished the free gift if the kit weren’t short on threads. I wrote an email to complain but they haven’t responded, growl. In the meantime, I need to get the right threads to finish it off.
The only other thing I’ve made lately is a couple of cards, one of which I still need to post the photo of, although I’m still waiting to hear if it reached its destination, it should have arrived on Saturday…
I will be doing more crafting soon though. For Valentine’s, my lovely bought my a photo album with the promise that we would do lots of crafty things together and fill the album with photos of us making things. So when I visited on his birthday, we put together some cute Russian doll tags that had come with my Craftseller, and now that he’s back for the Easter holidays, we’re going to do lots more things. I have plenty of ideas, I’m a little over-excited :p.
Plus, whilst tidying, I’ve found a bunch of odd (and, weirdly, unworn) socks that I want to make into things. I’m sure I’ve seen patterns for little animals made from socks, so I’ll go hunting for those. Or if I don’t find them, I’ll just cut the socks up for the material and make random stuff. I’ve also got two pairs of jeans that I love but are ripped, I’m hoping I can be creative enough to turn the back pockets into notebook covers.
Oh, plus, in a little giveaway on Facebook, I got a free mini candle kit from my favourite suppliers, MakingYourOwnCandles, so I can make some more candles at last, yay!
So, there’s the almost-resembling-a-plan, whether I actually get on and do anything remains to be seen. But I hope you’re all well and dandy, and I’ll post again soon ish.
M x
p.s. Did anyone else have the same issue with the CrossStitcher issue 250 kit? And also, have you got any ideas of things I can make out of socks?
The card I made for my lovely boyfriend’s birthday. I wasveryproud of this, managed to make it all by myself - no following a guide, no ideas from a magazine. I tried to make it steampunk, and was chuffed to find the perfect set of stamps from mum’s collection, including one that has a maths equation and a microscope on it (relevant as he’s quite a science-y person).
All the card used was originally white, I altered the colours with Distress Ink pads. The background is made up of stamped images, coloured with the yellow and brown ink pads, and then the edges torn to give a rougher effect. The little ‘frame’ around the main image is pieces of wood broken off from an old cigar box liner, and there’s some splinters of it underneath the pocket watch. I also changed the colour of the envelope and stamped an appropriate postal-themed image on it.
I probably just rambled about how it’s made way too much, but I was just so proud of creating a card that looked halfway decent! :) So, what do you think?
Mum and I found a corset die for her Cuttlebug. It means we can now make cute little cards like these!
